Joe Hards awarded Cirdan Sail Trainee of the Year 2023

It's Youth Work Week and the perfect time to announce Joe Hard is Cirdan's Sail Trainee of the Year 2023! Joe has joined us on several voyages this year across all three boats, including the Tall Ships Race onboard Faramir from Den Helder to Hartlepool. Joe also completed his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Residential onboard Duet, helped sail Faramir from Ipswich to London as part of our charity’s 40th Anniversary celebrations, and helped sail Queen Galadriel from Ipswich to Maldon at the end of our sailing season.

"I loved the adventure and immersion in nature, and the simpler life. The routine and sitting down to meals was also something I don't have at home and I enjoyed it."

Joe was awarded a voucher towards sail training, kindly donated by Row Aurora sea school.
