Cirdan’s office staff face their fears!
Last weekend, our office staff Lyndsey, Claire, Rhoda and Jane, alongside Alex our DofE volunteer, faced their fears as part of Cirdan’s Year of Challenge.
Lyndsey, Jane and Alex all have phobias of snakes, but took the plunge and held a female python. This was the first time this particular snake had been held by members of the public. It’s always nerve wracking when the handler says “I’ll stay at the head end.”
Next was Rhoda, who has a huge phobia of anything with a shell, the worst fear being cockroaches. The Bug Hut staff bought out a selection of hissing cockroaches!
Lastly, Claire overcome her phobia of spiders and held a beautiful tarantula called Anika.
A huge thank you to the staff at The Reptile Hut and The Bug Hut at White Elm Garden Centre in Bicknacre for making this challenge happen.
