Cirdan specialises in working with disadvantaged groups aged 12 to 25 years and offers grants to help subsidise the cost of the voyage fee. Voyages are also available for individual young people aged 16+ which are ideal for Gold DofE residentials.
We are already receiving extremely positive feedback from the voyages that have sailed so far this season with young people from special needs schools, supported living groups, youth integration and inclusion programmes. Character education to help young people learn how to face challenges and overcome adversity is now recognised as being essential if they are to thrive in today’s society. We can help youth leaders achieve this with their young people through an experience that provides transferable skills and memories to last a life time plus the opportunity to gain RYA accreditation. During the 30+ years we have been providing a service, leaders have told us they can achieve more in a week at sea than they can in months on dry land.
Many of the popular dates are already booked but we do still have availability across the fleet sailing from Ipswich, Burnham-on-Crouch, Poole/Gosport and Hartlepool/North Shields. At this stage in the season we also have grants available from our Voyage of Discovery Fund to support organisations working with groups of young people.
There are also a limited number of voyages available aboard our vessel Duet for young people aged 16+ who are looking for adventure; these are tailored to meet the requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential Award.
Why not call us now on 01621 776684 to discuss availability and grants so that you can start planning a voyage to benefit your young people.
