As a Duke of Edinburgh Approved Activity Provider, we run off-shore sailing voyages for students looking for fun and adventure to complete the Residential section of their Gold Award.
- Saturday 22nd July to Thursday 27th July 2017
- Saturday 29th July to Thursday 3rd August 2017
- Saturday 5th August to Thursday 10th August 2017
All voyages will be sailing from and returning to the South or East Coast
Experience required: None – participants will have varying degrees of experience from nothing to keen sailors.
Equipment required: Sleeping bag/pillow, warm clothes and stout shoes/boots.
Equipment supplied: Use of waterproofs, safety equipment and everything necessary for a residential afloat.
Cost: £450 per person for a six day voyage.
This cost includes on board food but participants (as a group and with guidance of the crew) plan their menus, provision the vessel within a budget and prepare meals. They also take a full and active part in all on board activities including deck work, navigating, and sailing. The purpose of the voyage is to give all participants a fully inclusive, on board experience as part of the Duet crew whilst having fun, making friends and learning new skills.
Please note: to ensure this experience is widely accessible, the cost has been kept low through the application of an optional grant from our Voyage of Discovery Fund. A condition of this grant is that the participant submits a thank you letter/short report to us after their voyage (to be forwarded to the supporters of our Fund).
Participant Places: 7 (plus 2 professional crew).
Additional Accreditation Available: Royal Yachting Association, Competent Crew Certificate at an additional cost of £8 per person (£16 if RYA log book required).
