This off-shore sailing experience is aboard Duet, an Edwardian gaff yawl, where everyone becomes a member of the crew for the week.  With a small group of up to 7 trainees plus 2 professional crew, all living and working in the confines of a sailing vessel, friendships are formed, teamwork develops, skills are learned and lots of fun is had. 

 

2019 Dates:

Saturday 13th to Thursday 18th April 2019 (Easter Hols) – East Coast

Monday 22nd to Saturday 27th July 2019 (Summer Hols) – South Coast

Saturday 10th to Thursday 15th August 2019 (Summer Hols) – South Coast

Monday 19th to Saturday 24th August 2019 (Summer Hols) – South Coast

Saturday 26th to Thursday 31st October 2019 (Oct Half Term) – East Coast

 

The cost, which includes onboard food, use of waterproofs and safety equipment is being kept low at just £480 for 6 days all inclusive (funding may be available for anyone experiencing particular financial hardship).

Experience required: None – participants will have varying degrees of experience from nothing to keen sailors.

Equipment required: Sleeping bag/pillow, warm clothes and stout shoes/boots.

Equipment supplied: Use of waterproofs, safety equipment and everything necessary for a residential afloat.

.Additional Accreditation Available: Royal Yachting Association, Competent Crew Certificate at an additional cost of £8 per person (£16 if RYA log book required).

Whilst these voyages are aimed at DofE students, they are open to any like-minded young person aged 16 to 25 who are looking for fun and adventure.

The Cirdan Sailing Trust is a DofE Approved Activity Provider.
