Places are available for young people aged between 12 & 25 to take part in the ASTO Cowes Small Ships’ Race.  You would need to join the vessel in Poole, Dorset for 10:00hrs on Friday 30 September 2016 for a practise sail to Cowes on the Isle of Wight.  Saturday morning will see an early start for the race off the Royal Yacht Squadron line.

A civic reception and prize giving party in the evening is a great opportunity to meet all the crews from the other vessels.

On Sunday morning the fleet departs from Cowes and Queen Galadriel will head back to Poole for an afternoon departure around 16:00hrs.ASTO pic for web

Waterproofs, life jackets and on board food are provided.  Young people under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Queen Galadriel is known for her endurance rather than her speed but with some good team work we expect her to achieve a good position in her class and a great time will be had by all.

Cost just £150 per person

Please note: A maximum of 16 places are available but a minimum of 10 trainees are required to race Queen Galadriel.  ASTO race rules specify that at least 50% of crew on board must be aged under 25.  If these requirements are not met the voyage cannot go ahead.
