Character education with Cirdan

The government is now recognising the need for young people to develop a set of character traits, attributes and behaviours that underpin success in education and work, such as:

  • perseverance, resilience and grit
  • confidence and optimism
  • motivation, drive and ambition
  • neighbourliness and community spirit
  • tolerance and respect
  • honesty, integrity and dignity
  • conscientiousness, curiosity and focus

Robust evaluation of the outcomes of our voyages shows that the above can easily be achieved through the challenge of life at sea aboard one of our vessels.  Youth leaders have told us they achieved more during a week at sea than in months on dry land.
