2015 Sailing season comes to an end

The last week of the season is now approaching and we would like to wish the groups joining the vessels a fantastic voyage!

Queen Galadriel and her crew will be welcoming their group of young people this weekend in Weymouth for a 7 day passage sailing along the South Coast, around Lands End and into the River Severn. They will head up the ship canal to the historic shipyard in Gloucester where she is having her lower deck replaced.

Meanwhile, the crew of Duet will be greeting their young people in Ipswich for a 7 day voyage sailing the rivers and estuaries along the East Coast, visiting the back waters and historic ports. Duet and her crew will then head to Bradwell-on-Sea for the routine winter refit work.

Faramir is also currently in Ipswich and due to a last minute cancellation is looking for a group to join her and her crew to sail from/to Royal Harwich Yacht Club, Woolverstone between Mon 26th – Fri 30th October. Funding available (excluding travel and food) to cover voyage fees for disadvantaged young people. This can be arranged as a residential or individual day sails between these dates. If you work with a group of young people and this is of some interest, please contact us immediately on 01621 776684 / 07956491101. Faramir will also then head to Bradwell with some volunteer trainees who have been selected from the groups that have sailed with us this season.

We have had fantastic feedback from the groups that have sailed with us this year and we are already taking bookings for 2016, with the popular dates filling up quickly. If you are interested in a character and life skill development sailing voyage for a group of young people, please contact us as soon as possible. Funding through our Voyage of Discovery Fund is available for groups of young people. Contact us on 01621 776684 or email – michelle@cirdantrust.org
